The Megalith Movers Prehistoric Engineering
Blog 17th December 2016     Hi all,    It has been an interesting week of progress, problems and equipment failure. On the positive side every inch of progress we have made to date, we have been able to hold on to. We have also more or less proved the the worth of using levers in a pulling action, and think this method will take us to the point where the obelisk becomes self-righting.    The equipment failure was to do with the lifting beam. We have simply over-stressed this and it now bends more than it lifts, we will have to replace it. While this would not have been a problem for the ancients as they would have had all the equipment they needed, and the man-power, we have to beg, steal, or borrow everything we need and to make up for the lack of man-power, as we have only our bags of sand.    Next week we will continue undaunted. Happy Christmas to all.    Gordon << previous blog page next blog page >> To read & post comments click here return to top of this page
